JFK 50 Mile

The JFK 50 Mile or the JFK 50 Mile Memorial is an ultramarathon that takes place annually in Washington County, Maryland, USA. The first race was held in spring 1963, one of numerous 50-mile (80 km) races that year. After the Kennedy assassination, many of these events were never held again. The current course record is held by David Riddle (5:40:45) and Devon Crosby-Helms (6:29:21) on the women's side. Team Inov-8 captain Mark Lundblad won the JFK 50 miler in 2008.

The race starts in the town of Boonsboro, Maryland, and heads east out of town toward the South Mountain Inn where it follows the Appalachian Trail to the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal. From there the Race follows the canal to Dam #4 on the Potomac River and follows roads to Williamsport, Maryland.

The Race is held on the Saturday before Thanksgiving.
